The Painted Chandelier Christmas Porch Tour
Hi, Friends! Today, I am sharing with y'all my Christmas porch. We've had so much rain here in Georgia lately. It rained almost continuously from Thanksgiving until just a few days ago, with few decent days to get outdoor decorating done. But finally, it let up and I was able to get the porch finished this past weekend. This week our weather is beautiful! Never boring weather~ gotta love the South :)
Last year, we changed our Charleston green shutters and a red front door to a shade of gray brown. I wanted to update our house color scheme, so I basically just stayed in the same color family as our siding, which is Duron Pewterworks. Caribou is the color we chose for the shutters and front door, and I love it because it's such a great neutral & looks so good with the colors I particularly love right now: pale aquas, blue greens, magentas, purples, & pinks.
In my Fall Home Tour, I used purple cabbages, magenta mums, purple fountain grass, Dusty Miller, and purple pansies. Believe it or not, they still looked good at Thanksgiving and even now, so I decided to enhance the planters for Christmas instead of buying new plants or boxwoods. I had my color scheme planned out: natural linen ribbon, pale aqua pillows from last Summer, natural greenery & pinecones, touches of burlap, and apple green satin ribbon. I also knew I wanted to add silver and gold ornament balls to the planters.

This was a pre-made wreath I bought at Hobby Lobby. I added more greenery, pine cones, a bow made out of both burlap & linen ribbon, and a toy deer from Target ( that was previously red metallic with glittery green antlers! ) I painted it with some sample paint I had, then wired his 2 legs closest to the wreath to secure him.
One thing that really sold us on our house years ago was the wraparound porch! We have loved having it here in Georgia, and can use it almost year round. It really is like having an extra living space. Would you believe me if I told you I've had recurring dreams for the past 11 years about having to move and leave my porch? It's true!!
I love changing the plants in my lady head planter each season. In years past, I've added red nandina berries & greenery to her at Christmas, and then in the Summer I add succulents that trail. This table usually has shells from our favorite beach location on it, but I traded those for small gold & silver ball ornaments during Christmas for a more elegant look.
I added a few rosemary topiary trees in urns beside the loveseat.....they add such great fragrance to the porch!
I dressed up the candelier with fresh greenery, and added pinecones to the planter on the table.
Faux snow ( because it's pretty & Christmassy!!:) )
See the silver painted pumpkin? Just another way I tried to work with some of the things I had on hand from my Fall decor! I added more greenery to a planter that was already on the little marble & iron table.
I tried to create seating groups on the side porch when we first moved to this house because it is such a long, narrow space. That allows guests to move chairs around to accommodate where they want to be. The iron wall decor, candle sconces, & candelier anchor the dining table and define this space. I added some beautiful apple green satin ribbon to each sconce to dress them up a bit. I really love the combination of apple green satin with natural linen ribbon, pale aqua pillows, and silver & gold ball ornaments - juxtaposed with the natural birch twigs, pine cones, & fresh greenery.
